WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Purdue softball team will make its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance after receiving an at-large bid Sunday night. The Boilermakers will compete in the Los Angeles regional with Nevada, Cal State-Fullerton and UCLA beginning Friday, May 16. Purdue is the No. 3 seed in the regional and will take on second-seeded Nevada at 5:30 p.m. ET on Friday. Purdue has posted a 34-21 record thus far in 2008, including a 9-9 mark in Big Ten play. The Boilermakers, who finished fifth in the Big Ten, played 18 games against other NCAA Tournament teams, including 11 games against Top 25 opponents. Purdue posted a program milestone victory over No. 7 Baylor on Feb. 15, while facing off with then-No. 4 Alabama, No. 10 Stanford, No. 10 LSU, No. 6 Michigan, No. 13 Northwestern and No. 25 Iowa.
