The 25/75 Club
The "25/75 Club" refers to an elite class of intercollegiate athletics departments. The term is applied to those institutions that graduate 75 percent of their student-athletes and finish in the top 25 of the overall National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Directors' Cup standings. The Directors' Cup is an award representing collective excellence in al varsity sports. Since 1997, three institutions have been part of the 25/75 Club each year - Notre Dame, Penn State and Stanford. Additionally, four other institutions have made three or more appearances over the last decade in the select group - Duke, Michigan, North Carolina and Virginia.
Purdue is at the doorstep of the 25/75 Club. Over the next five years, energies will be focused on taking the next steps to national prominence. The foundation is already in place for new levels of achievement. In 2001, Purdue graduated 70 percent of its student-athletes, a rate that has improved annually over the last decade and exceeds the all-campus graduation rate. Last year, the 18 varsity Boilermaker teams finished a collective 41st in the Directors' Cup standings, an all-time high for Purdue.
The 25/75 Club is indeed within reach.
